On May 19, the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan held a reception to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan, themed “China-Pakistan Unbreakable Friendship and the Bright Future.”
The Charge d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy, Ms. Pang Chunxue, and chief guests Dr. Asad Majeed Khan, Foreign Secretary of Pakistan, and Mr. Mazhar Javed, Director General of the Foreign Service Academy addressed the event.
Ms. Pang welcomed guests to the Chinese embassy, emphasizing the profound historical roots, solid public support, and practical needs of the China-Pakistan relationship.
She added that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative and the launch of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The joint efforts have resulted in significant contributions to Pakistan’s economic and social development, infrastructure upgrades, and regional connectivity.
From May 5th to 6th, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang paid a successful visit to Pakistan, which Ms. Pang considered tremendously significant in solidifying and deepening the China-Pakistan strategic partnership of cooperation. She expressed her appreciation to the diplomats from both countries for their contributions and vowed to continuously promote the China-Pakistan friendship.
Dr. Asad Majeed Khan applauded the contribution of diplomats to the China and Pakistan friendship and cooperation. He mentioned the transformation of the Chinese Embassy compound in Pakistan as a testament to the developing friendship. He expressed deep gratitude for China’s unswerving support to Pakistan’s sovereignty, independence, financial stability, and infrastructure construction.
Dr. Mazhar Javed stressed the 72-year-long nurturing of the China-Pakistan relationship, providing opportunities for the younger generation. He praised the engagement of State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang with Pakistani young diplomats and the reception for strengthening their understanding of the China-Pakistan relationship.
Before the reception, guests viewed photos depicting the history of the China-Pakistan friendship and the transformation of the Chinese Embassy compound. The event included a traditional Chinese tea ceremony and dumpling-making session, creating a warm and harmonious atmosphere.
