PSW to integrate with China’s Single Window

The Pakistan Single Window (PSW) said on Monday that it is establishing connectivity with China Single Window to enable the data exchange and mutual recognition of trade-related data and documents in electronic form.

The paperless data exchange will promote regional growth by modernizing and harmonizing trade. As part of expanding its global footprints, PSW will be integrated with the China Single Window, it said.

According to the PSW website, the PSW initiative, led by Pakistan Customs, is a digital space that will bring all regulatory and operational mechanisms onto one platform where Pakistan’s inward and outward trade will be regulated and facilitated.

It aims at reducing time and cost of doing business by digitalizing Pakistan’s cross border trade and eliminating paper-based manual processes. PSW aims to provide an integrated electronic platform that allows parties involved in international trade and transport to lodge standardized information and documents with a single-entry point to fulfil all import, export, and transit regulatory requirements.

To ensure optimal benefits of the PSW system to the traders as well as public sector regulators, it is mandatory upon Customs and other government agencies to align their respective laws, regulations, procedures, processes and other information requirements related to regulation of imports, exports, transit trade and associated transport with PSW.
