Royal JW Buffalo Farm Sheikhupura notified as FMD compartment

The Livestock Department Punjab has achieved a milestone with the declaration of Royal JW Buffalo Farm Sheikhupura as a Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) free compartment.

“The Governor of Punjab is pleased to declare the Royal JW Buffalo Farm comprising of 70 acres’ land—- at Mouza Kaliseyan Bhattian, tehsil Safdarabad, District Sheikhupura as a disease-free area in respect of Foot and Mouth Disease subject to health certificate in case of movement of the animal and regular checking of the animals at entry and exit points,” reads an official notification.

Becoming an FMD-free compartment offers numerous significant advantages. It not only facilitates the safe export of livestock and animal products but also serves as a vital safeguard for the local agricultural industry, ultimately ensuring the health and well-being of livestock.

On this achievement, Secretary Livestock Muhammad Masoud Anwar expressed his felicitations by appreciating all his directors who worked tirelessly for the success of this project. “This project will make history and hoist the share of livestock in international exports,” said Mr. Anwar.
