Sindh TEVTA launching Chinese Language course in 6 districts

The Sindh Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA) has launched a 5-month long Chinese language program in six districts of the province.

The program, equivalent to HSK Level-1, has been launched in view of the enormous job opportunities being provided by the Chinese companies under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative. The respective government institutes and colleges will charge only PKR 5,000 for the full course.

The basic Chinese Language course has been offered by two government institutes in Karachi, and one each in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Tharparkar and Shaheed Benazirabad districts.

According to STEVTA, the program will open a window of the best opportunities for skilled workforce of the province, which is home to several prominent CPEC projects. The students will be able to explore careers in Chinese companies and CPEC projects while the program will also provide career counselling and job placement services.

In Sukkur, the program has been launched in Govt. Polytechnic Institute for Girls.

Ramesh Kumar, Principal Govt. Polytechnic Institute, Mithi said that the program has attracted students in large numbers and the number of forms issued to them has exceeded the available seats. They will accommodate as many as 40 students, he said.
