China-Pakistan Friendship Day celebrated at KIU

China Study Center (CSC) at Karakoram International University (KIU) on Tuesday celebrated China-Pakistan Friendship Day at the main campus of the university in Gilgit Baltistan. The purpose of the event was to highlight the decade-old friendly relations between the two brotherly countries.

A large number of students plus senior administrative and teaching staff of the university participated in the ceremony. Besides the university students and staff of the university, local people including people from different walks of life also participated in the event and proudly exclaimed “Pakchin Dosti Zindabad—zhongba youyi wansui”. Some students also performed Chinese Wushu to show their love for Chinese martial arts. Songs and documentaries related to Pak-China Friendship were also played during the event.

On this occasion, Associate Dean of Social Sciences Dr. Tasawar Rahim Baig and Director of International Office Dr. Sajjad Haider said that CSC at KIU is promoting the Chinese language, ecology, culture, and values in the region. “Being all-weather friends, we need to understand each other’s culture and languages; we are sending our students to China for higher education and research who are also promoters of Pakistani culture in China,” said Mr. Baig.
